Hygieia Pharmaceuticals completes A2 round of financing to rapidly promote clinical development of multiple siRNA pipelines

Recently, Hygieia Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hygieia ") announced that it has completed tens of millions of yuan in A2 round financing, led by Huangpu Biomedicine Industry Investment Fund Management and followed by Nanwan Baiao Fund.

Hygieia Pharmaceuticals is committed to building a delivery technology platform and drug development of siRNA. We have established a complete end-to-end siRNA drug development platform from target discovery to clinical Proof of Concept (POC). Our professional team has rich experience covering the entire lifecycle from early research and development to industrialization.

Hygieia Pharmaceuticals has developed multiple siRNA delivery technology platforms with independent intellectual property rights (IIPR). a MVIP delivery platform of dual site coupled siRNA for hepatic diseases, and DDP, the second-generation siRNA delivery platform which can simultaneously deliver two or more siRNAs and can be used to develop drugs for complex or refractory diseases mediated by multiple targets and mechanisms, and NSDP platform developed specifically for neurological diseases which is able to target not only the central nervous system (CNS) but also the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

Based on the above siRNA delivery platforms, Hygieia Pharmaceuticals focuses on disease areas that are currently urgently needed or have no available drugs in clinical practice. Our pipelines mainly focus on hepatitis B, NASH/MASH, cardio cerebrovascular and metabolic diseases, complement mediated diseases, nervous system diseases, etc.. 

Hepa Thera has been authorized as an siRNA drug treating chronic hepatitis B virus infection by Hygieia Pharmaceuticals It is the first domestic siRNA new drug for hepatitis B approved by NMPA and FDA to enter clinical trials. The drug is developed based on the MVIP delivery platform, and the results of phase I clinical studies have shown that the pipeline has good safety, tolerability, and Best-in-Class (BIC) therapeutic potential among peers. 

The Kylo-11 pipeline developed based on MVIP delivery platform for the treatment of hyperlipidemia (a) is currently in phase I clinical development. Preliminary clinical data of Kylo-11 shows good efficacy and safety, and compared with major overseas competitors in the late clinical stage with the same target, it exhibits equivalent or even better efficacy at low doses. It has the potential to be the best BIC in its class and has the opportunity to create huge medical value in reducing the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the future.

The globally unique dual targeted THR β agonist pipeline Kylo-0603 is developed based on the MVIP platform, which can minimize the systematic exposure of THR β agonists and reduce side effects on extrahepatic organs such as the heart and thyroid axis. Preclinical efficacy studies have shown that this pipeline not only significantly improves NAS scores and reverses liver fibrosis, but also significantly promotes energy metabolism.
